Save the date! On August 5th Sister Lily (a.k.a. Stephanie Marshall and I) will be part of Stomp 'n Stump, a benefit concert and party to raise funds for victims of the tornado that struck Conway, MA this past February 25th. All proceeds will go to Conway Tornado Recovery, a group of Conway residents who have continued to organize cleanups of extensive tree damage and debris. Come hear music by Sister Lily and former Lily Katie Clarke. Plus you'll hear a mandolin orchestra, a ukelele ensemble, a bagpipe group, rock, brass, and string bands and much more! The party will take place at the South Deerfield Rod and Gun Club at 11 Mathews Rd in South Deerfield from noon until 4 pm.
I'll be singing backup vocals for my friend, the illustrious original Lily Katie Clarke, and her Green River Band at the Upper Valley Music Festival this Saturday night. The UVMF is an all-volunteer event. Everyone from the artists to the stagehands to the venue door people graciously give of their time so they can donate every penny of profit to fund cancer research and find a cure. More details and tickets available at www.uppervalleymusicfest.com.
I'm very happy to be a part of this project, Songs for Mass Resistance. My song Not in My Name, performed by The Boxcar Lilies, is included in this multi-genre 3 volume compilation of protest songs. You can download each volume at songsformassresistance.bandcamp.com. All proceeds go to the ACLU.
My friend and Boxcar Lily partner-in-crime Stephanie Marshall and I will be performing as a duo at The Montague Bookmill in a co-bill with The Berger Sisters. Our talented friend Don Calsyn will be backing us up on fiddle, mandolin and guitar. Join us on the banks of the Sawmill River in Montague and come early for a delicious bite and beer at Lady Killigrew Cafe!
